Pigpen Truffle Rewards
Hunting for truffles can be a very rewarding experience in Farmville. Sending your little piggies out to hunt for the elusive goodies then sharing them with friends it is a great way to spend some time. Each pig looks for a different color truffle, and each truffle color contains a different prize, maybe another pig or some gold. I thought it might be a good idea to create a little chart that shows which types of pigs look for which types of truffles as well as the prizes associated with each.

The Current Most Profitable Items.
A few weeks ago I made a post regarding the most profitable use of land in Farmville. It has been nearly a month since then and I wanted to make an update post because there have been a couple of additions to the market. New entries are indicated in bold.
First lets have a look at the Trees in Farmville. The new Arjun tree seems to have matched the Jackfruit tree as the most profitable standard tree available.

Personalized Neighbor Visits
With the new neighbor help system in Farmville there are a few new ways to really help each other out. Under the new system when a player visits your farm they have the ability to fertilize crops, plow withered plots, and harvest trees and animals. When you harvest an animal or tree you are rewarded with the gold from doing so. (Don't fear your friend will still be able to harvest them when they return to their farm later)
Because you can harvest your friends animals one very good strategy to consider is setting up a mutually beneficial deal with as many friends as you can. Purchase five of any of the following animals, Belted Cow, Arawapa Goat, Saddleback Pig. These three animals are available in the market and have the highest per harvest reward of any single animal in the game.
Next convince as many friends as possible to purchase these animals and leave them out on their farms. When the animals are ready to harvest a visiting neighbor can harvest them and collect the reward. However, the owner of the farm should not harvest from them, instead harvesting from neighbors farms. This will keep the animals permanently harvest-able. In the case of the Belted Cow this means each visiting neighbor will be collecting 15,000 gold every visit to your farm.
While you will be collecting a huge reward from all the neighbors you get to agree to having 5 of the above animals on their farm. You will of course either need to simply not harvest your animals so that your neighbors can always collect from you, or try to work out a specific time to harvest them.
For 5 Belted Cows the reward is 15,000 gold (5 x 3,000 gold)
For 5 Arapawa Goats the reward is 6,000 gold (5 x 1,200 gold)
For 5 Saddleback Pigs the reward is 5,000 gold (5 x 1,000 gold)

Make the most of your Pigsty
The new Pigsty currently has very little use. The amount of space it takes up, is more than the space 20 pigs take up. So how can you use this new building to the utmost? By knowing that the Pigpen harvests every 24 hours, and when it harvests you gain the bonus for every animal inside it.
This brings me to the Saddleback Pig;
Costing 300,000 coins, and requiring a player be Level 35 to purchase the Saddleback pig has the second highest harvest in the game. (The highest belongs to the Belted Cow) Bringing in 1,000 coins every two days. However, if you place it in the Pigsty, you will earn 1,000 coins every day from this little piggie. Filling up your Pigpen with Saddlebacks will cost 6 million gold, earn you 60,000 XP and produce 20,000 coins a day.
Zynga has stated that more features will be coming to the Pigsty in the future, and the general consensus among players is that a type of Hog will be introduced and Pig Breeding will be possible through the Pigpen. This means that filling up your Pigpen with Saddleback Pigs now may very well pay off massively in the near future.

Crafting Mastery - Master your goods
Zynga recently released the ability for players to earn Craft Mastery for goods produced through the Crafting Cottages. These work very similarly to the Crop Mastery available for seeds. As you progress through the levels you earn gold and experience bonuses, including a sign that is similar to the crop mastery signs. However, the signs for Crafting goods will change appear depending on what level you have achieved.
Each Crafted good will have 5 levels you can master, at the first level you will receive a sign, and the bonus. After that, the appearance of your sign will change, adding more stars, as you progress through the levels. At level 5, it will have 5 stars. Here is the Spicy Tomato Juice sign as an example, on the left is the level 1 version and on the right the fully leveled sign showing all 5 stars.
And remember, it is possible to level up 1 item using all four slots within your crafting cottage. In essence leveling it up 4x at once.
